To our esteemed teachers, dear parents, loved friends, good afternoon. It is breathtaking to stand in front of all of you. Today is a tremendous day for us eighth graders we are about to end our last year of middle school. Life is a journey and I believe most of us standing here believe so to, we all have made many memories over the years in school I know I have. I know that most of us are very excited for high school our next phase in life. I also know that most of us here are nervous. Most of us it took 4 years to be here, me I came here this year but it doesn't take 4 years for to know that I love this school. I know that sounds cheesy but it is true.
We are going to high school next year which is still crazy when I see some of the graduates heights i’ll tell you (lift hand head to knee). Some advice when we are in highschool, Life has no remote, get up and change it yourself. That is some advice for all of us actually. Something that is a flaw in us is that when are little we have huge dreams, that isn’t the flaw the flaw is what happens to those dreams. They became more realistic the more mature we get, but the realistic dream isn’t always the best, know that the impossible can be done and go reach for the stars. A quote from Edison is “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”. Edison didn’t just give out after the first 5 times, it actually took him over 10,000 tries to make the light bulb. We all just give up after a few kicks which isn’t something we should do. We should get back up and stand stronger. Some of my friends are some of the things that wake me up in the morning the laughs we have, the memories we make is what shapes are friendship. That is my message to all of our future freshmen thanks for having me speak and let give a hand to our graduates.
